Best crypto app in India for Android, iPhone and PC (2026)

Every major Indian crypto exchange is free to download on Android and iPhone, and each one also works in a web browser, which is how you use it on a Windows PC or laptop. What differs is fees, safety and features, not the phone you use. Here are our picks, and how to download them without falling for a fake app.

Our picks

  1. CoinSwitch, Beginners and INR-only investors
  2. CoinDCX, Traders who want spot, INR futures and options in one app
  3. ZebPay, Cautious long-term investors and Bitcoin SIPs
  4. Mudrex, Hands-off investors who want diversified baskets
  5. Binance, Experienced traders who need global liquidity and altcoins

Are crypto apps free in India?

Yes, to download and to open an account. You pay when you trade: a trading fee (roughly 0.1% to 0.5% on spot) plus 18% GST on that fee, and sometimes a withdrawal fee. The 1% TDS on sales is not a fee but advance tax you can claim back when you file your return. Mudrex and Delta Exchange charge nothing for INR deposits and withdrawals. Crypto app for PC and Windows 10

You do not need to install anything on a PC. CoinDCX, CoinSwitch, ZebPay, Mudrex, WazirX and Delta Exchange all run their full exchange in a browser such as Chrome or Edge: go to the official website and log in with the same account you use on your phone. When we checked, Binance was the only exchange here with an official desktop app (Windows, macOS and Linux).

  • Avoid “for PC” download sites. Pages offering an Indian exchange app “for Windows 7, 8, 10” usually wrap the Android app in an emulator or, worse, a modified file. Your login and OTP would pass through software the exchange never made.
  • Windows 10 is out of support. Microsoft stopped free security updates for Windows 10 on 14 October 2025. If you still trade from a Windows 10 PC, keep your browser updated, turn on two-factor authentication and consider moving to a supported system or enrolling in Extended Security Updates.

How to download a crypto app safely

  1. Start from the official website and follow its Play Store or App Store link, or search the store and check the developer name matches the company.
  2. Never install an APK sent on WhatsApp, Telegram or by a “support agent”. Fake exchange apps are one of the most common crypto scams in India (scam red flags).
  3. Check FIU-IND registration. Unregistered apps get removed: 15 more were ordered blocked in September 2026. See FIU-registered exchanges.
  4. Turn on two-factor authentication before your first deposit, and never share an OTP.

Android or iPhone: does it matter?

No. Each exchange offers the same features on Android and iPhone, and your account, balances and tax reports are the same on web and mobile. Pick the exchange first, then use it on whatever device you have. Compare exchanges in the top 5 crypto exchanges in India or the full crypto apps comparison.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best free crypto app in India?

All the major Indian apps are free to download and open. For a beginner, CoinSwitch is the simplest; CoinDCX has the most features. You pay a trading fee plus GST only when you buy or sell.

Which crypto app is best for iPhone in India?

The same apps as on Android: CoinSwitch for beginners, CoinDCX for the widest range, ZebPay for cautious long-term buyers and Mudrex for baskets. All are on the App Store.
