The headline trading fee is only part of what an exchange costs you. Add 18% GST on the fee, INR withdrawal charges, crypto withdrawal fees and, on some apps, an inactivity fee. Here is who is actually cheapest, depending on how you trade.
Cheapest for frequent traders: the WazirX ZERO plan costs ₹99 a month plus GST for zero per-trade fees. At WazirX’s 0.40% base rate the plan pays for itself above roughly ₹25,000 of trading a month. Weigh its 2024 hack before holding large balances.

Take a 0.45% base spot fee, the regular rate on ZebPay and the entry tier on Mudrex. On a ₹10,000 buy the fee is ₹45, and 18% GST on that fee adds ₹8.10, ₹53.10 per trade, or about ₹106 for a buy and a later sell. At a 0.10% fee the same round trip costs about ₹24. Fee tiers fall as your 30-day volume rises, so heavy traders pay far less than these entry rates.
India’s two largest apps tier their spot fees by volume: CoinDCX roughly 0.03% to 0.50% and CoinSwitch roughly 0.04% to 0.40%, plus GST. Neither is the cheapest at small volumes, but they are competitive for active traders, and the order-book (PRO) screens usually cost less than instant buy. Compare them in CoinDCX vs CoinSwitch.
For frequent traders, WazirX’s ₹99/month ZERO plan. For standard spot fees, Binance at 0.10% (INR only via P2P). For futures and options, Delta Exchange at 0.02%/0.05%.
WazirX ZERO removes per-trade fees for ₹99 a month plus GST. WazirX’s USDT markets were also at 0% when we checked. Network fees for withdrawing crypto still apply.
Yes. 18% GST is added to trading fees at Indian exchanges, so a 0.45% fee really costs about 0.53%.
For frequent spot traders, WazirX (₹99 a month, no per-trade fee). For occasional buyers who stay in rupees, Mudrex, whose INR deposits and withdrawals are free. For futures and options, Delta Exchange. All are FIU-IND registered; compare them in the top 5 crypto exchanges in India.
