Giottus review 2026: fees, safety and who it suits

Giottus is a Chennai-based exchange, founded in 2017 by Vikram Subburaj and Arjun Vijay, that has grown without outside funding. It charges nothing to move rupees in or out, supports several Indian languages and has added SIPs, staking and perpetual futures. Here is what it costs and how it compares.

Verdict in short

A solid Indian option if you want free rupee transfers, the ability to withdraw coins and support in your own language. The weak points are thin trading volume, so large orders can move the price, and no current proof of reserves that we could verify.

Our score: 8.2/10 (#2 of 12)

Giottus ranks #2 of 12 in our best crypto app in India ranking for 2026. Just above it is CoinDCX (8.4); just below is CoinSwitch (8.1). Every app is scored on the same seven tests (how we score).

What's good

  • Free INR deposits and withdrawals by UPI, IMPS or NEFT
  • Support in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi and Bengali as well as English
  • SIPs, staking, perpetual futures and crypto withdrawals in one Indian-registered app

What to watch

  • Small trading volume (about $1.3 million a day on CoinGecko when we checked), so big orders can move the price

  • Its fee page (0.40% base) and its zero-fee announcements disagree, so check the fee at order time

What you can do on Giottus

Giottus is a spot exchange first. You add rupees by UPI, IMPS or NEFT, buy coins on INR or crypto markets, and sell back to rupees, with the 1% TDS deducted for you. Around that it offers SIPs, staking and fixed-term crypto deposits. In August 2025 it launched perpetual futures, and in May 2026 it added USDT-settled perpetuals on US stocks, metals and energy. The app is available in eight languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi and Bengali.

Fees

Moving rupees is free: deposits start at ₹100 and withdrawals at ₹500, and instant IMPS withdrawals go up to ₹2 lakh. Its published fee page lists 0.40% for makers and takers on INR pairs at the regular tier (up to ₹5 lakh of 30-day volume), falling to 0.05% above ₹10 crore, and from 0.30% on crypto pairs, plus 18% GST. Giottus announced zero-fee INR trading in 2023 and some of its pages still say so, so look at the fee shown before you confirm an order. Futures cost 0.018% maker and 0.048% taker at the regular tier. Crypto withdrawals carry a per-coin fee.

Is Giottus safe?

Giottus Technologies is registered with FIU-IND and deducts TDS as Indian law requires. We found no hack in its history since 2017. Two things hold its score back: it pledged proof of reserves in 2022 but we could not find a current report, and its trading volume is small next to the largest Indian apps. Its terms also allow up to seven working days for INR withdrawals, although most go through far faster. As with any exchange, keep long-term coins in a wallet you control.

Who should use Giottus?

Investors who want to buy and hold in rupees without paying to move money, and who value support in a regional language. Active traders who need deep order books will usually get better prices on CoinDCX or CoinSwitch. Futures traders should read risk management and position sizing first.
